Biography

Adam Breen is a comic book/graphic novel creator from Dublin, Ireland. He holds a Diploma in Audio and Music Technology from Creative Media College Pulse and a BA Honours Degree in English and Film from University College Dublin. He has worked with creators from all around the world and publishers across Europe, the UK, and the USA. Adam’s work focuses on Sci-Fiction stories that also deal with current social and environmental issues. This examines and generates discussion about topics such as social justice, corporate responsibility and environmental concerns.

Adam has won multiple awards for his writing talents such as Darby Pop’s Breaking Into Comics in both 2016 and 2017 and Top Cow's Talent Hunt 2020. He is currently working with the Top Cow Team on this project that is set to be released in the next year. Furthermore, Adam has been awarded funding from Science Foundation Ireland, the European Space Agency and the Irelands Department of Education in 2019 - Present to undertake the development and creation of educational comic book projects for primary-level children. This work sets out to explore graphic storytelling as a non-traditional medium in teaching and learning settings. Breen’s work as a creator and a project director has a direct emphasis on amplifying the voices of young people by encouraging them to read, create and communicate.

Alongside Comic Book Publishers, Adam has collaborated with many institutions across Ireland such as University College Dublin, Technological University of the Shannon Limerick School of Art & Design, Ballyfermot College of Further Education, Munster Technological University Crawford College of Art & Design, Technological University Dublin and The National College of Art and Design collective communities. Finally, Adam’s work has been circulated through many avenues such as RTÉ Home School Hub, Junior Certificate School Programme Demonstration Library Project, Ireland's Primary School Network, the Museum of Literature Ireland and all good Book Retailers.
